Do a deal with the Devils. What could happen?

I have been saying there is something wrong with this team since all star break last year.

I did expect regression but this team is not playing for each other. They look disinterested and are not putting in a lot of effort.

We are at the same place we were at last year at this time in points more or less but our goaltending was horrid at the start of the year. We lost a lot of games we should have won. Can we say that this year?

We need more leadership in the top 6. Besides Tkachuk we have none.

If last night wasn’t rock bottom.. hard to fathom what would be...

Its not time to hit the panic button YET but really soon, I think speaking out loud and talking about how bad they are might motivate the right players but really the flames have huge history of being bad in October and November for almost 40 years of past only when they won the presidents trophies was that not the case.

Panic in the second week of December if they are still well under par.

I dont think there is a fair trade out there right now. Other GM's can smell blood in the water. Desperation tends to manifest bad decisions. I think retooling the lines is the best idea at the moment.

- 5 for Gaudreau and Mony ..... you cant bench these guys but you gotta try something. Shaking up the lines has to be the first move.

Gaudreau, Jankowski, Reider
Dube, Ryan, Lucic


Splitting up the skilled players hopefully can generate some offence from different lines. Hopefully it makes for some better match ups and sparks some offense. If this doesn't put a fire under Gaudreau's A$$ I am not sure what will. Plus both Janko and Reider are trying to showcase for contracts next year so hopefully they would push themselves to the limit with an opportunity to play with some top notch talent.

Change up the lines yes !!! But that idiot peters doesn’t give them any time to gel !! Stop shuffling every couple shifts changes need 3-4 games to gel !! Losing with same lines is no different than losing with new lines !! LOL beginning to think it is a Peters problem look at how good Carolina has been since he’s gone !!

Time to get a true #2 center, moving Backlund to the 3rd makes sense. This team needs a heart transplant. Not sure why they signed Rieder? If Buffalo still wants him I’d look there.

Switch Chucky and Johnny for a game or 2! Our top six looks disinterested and the bottom 6 is too small, maybe it’s time to put Rinaldo on the 4th.

I was thinking last night that Rinaldo probably isn't too far away from a callup - might need the team to get hauled into a scrap.

There are signs of some emotion, Chucky calling out the team, Johnny's "crosscheck" on Floppy McFlopperson the other night, Rittich skating the length of the ice... I still think they will end up being ok, but they need to rally around themselves. There's no cavalry coming over the hill to save the team this season. There is no cap space, there are no absolute, can't miss studs in the system, Rittich is a good, but not Vezina calibre goalie...

Play a better defensive system, optimize the transition a bit, and for god's sake, quit it with the 1-3-1 powerplay for a little while - the shorthanded breaks are killing this team - go to the overload or the umbrella for a bit.

I’m not bailing on them yet. Shame for all of you that are so quick to bail on them. Like all of you asšholes haven’t dealt with adversity before. I’m sticking with my team. They will pull out of this funk. Razz me if you want, but when I’m right I’ll razz you back in a month

I would put the best players on the top line & that would be Lindholm centring Gaudreau & Tkachuk.
Then shift Monahan down with Mangi & Bennett if healthy or even Ryan.
Move Backlund down with Frolik & Lucic. & Janko/Ryan with Rinaldo & Dube.
